Many dream of a new life Down Under. After all, who wouldn’t want to exchange a life of grey skies and the ready meals for one of spontaneous barbies laden with fresh seafood under a never-ending blue sky?

Author, Iain Ayres (39), did just that and has now built a business that helps others to do the same. After experiencing a nightmare time fraught with misinformation, dead ends and fraud, Ayres and his girlfriend eventually made their Jump Down Under from England two years ago. They arrived there jobless and homeless but both happy and determined to prevent others from going through the same hell. As a result he set up www.migrationagentreview.com which now has over 200 reviews and over 100 hits a day. Jump Down Under is exactly the book he wishes he’d been able to read before he moved to Australia.

“The logistics are relatively easy – you buy a ticket, get on a plane and go, but it’s the emotions, the anxiety and concerns that are the big issues. I wanted to normalise the emotions we went through, and others go through, by sharing other people’s stories,” says Ayres.

This book tells it how it is. The reality of making the move, telling the family, settling in and, most importantly, how to get that coveted visa! With the emphasis on first hand accounts rather than endless to do lists, Ayres provides the reader with a snapshot of the pre-decision, pre-departure, arrival and settling in process told by people who have been there, done that and now got the (probably Fosters XXXX) tee shirt. After hours of interviewing men and women, husbands and wives, singles, the young and not so young, this is the only book of its kind and fills a very real gap in the market.

All the practical stuff and vital information is there too, of course. This is the definitive must-read.

"An absolutely unique and indispensable guide – filled with expert as well as personal accounts--to the challenges and the benefits of emigrating to Australia or living for a time in this fascinating sub continent."
Joanna Hubbs, Senior Editor, Transitionsabroad.com

Jump Down Under True Stories of Relocating to Australia eBook Iain Ayres Reviews

Not just another book about Australia but a fantastic book and a must read if you are thinking or in the process of moving Down Under. Very glad I bought it and I was really excited to read other peoples thoughts and experiences throughout their journeys all the way from applying for a visa all the way to living in Australia. A very helpful book indeed.
My family and I have been thinking about moving to Australia for some time and we have finally decided to get the ball rolling and apply for a visa. During my nightly ritual of surfing the Internet for information on visas and helpful tips on relocation, I came across this gem of a book, Jump Down Under. It's packed full of useful and helpful information and also contains impartial, honest and truthful reflections of what it is like to apply for a visa and relocate your family to the other side of the world.
The book doesn't try to sell Australia or persuade you to up root your family, the book takes you on six independent journeys following others who have relocated and settled into the Australian lifestyle. The probing questions provides you with unfettered access to the real facts and the emotions felt by the story tellers, these questions adds the true value to the book. No marketing spin, no sales pitch, just truthful honest reflections of what it is truly like to move to Australia.

A must read if you are thinking of moving to Australia.
Let's be clear this book MAY be useful, as long as you're British and you have just started wandering whether moving to Australia is a good decision.
If, however, you have already done some research on the requirements for such a move, and you know yourself good enough to imagine how you and your family would react, then you'll probably learn nothing from this book.
Mr.Ayres had a highly readable style that makes his story fun. One can pick it up and read each person's adventure independently. As an American, I won't be using his book as a personal manual for relocation, but I can see that it would be extremely useful and enticing for any Brit who is seeking a life abroad. Obviously, many have done this before. I love the Aussies, so there must be something about their way of life that makes them happy. Mr. Ayres' book shows that the process of relocating is time-consuming, but worth every bit of effort.
